DeposZip – Remote Deposit Capture (RDC)

Remote Deposit Capture allows you to deposit a check using your mobile device by taking a picture of the check and submitting it to the Credit Union. In order to use Remote Deposit Capture, you must first install the Credit Union’s mobile app. The app is currently available in the iTunes app store and Google Play.

Q: How will I know if I am eligible to use Remote Deposit?
If you meet the following criteria you may be approved to begin using DeposZip
 

  • Be a member in good standing
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Agree to mobile banking/Remote Deposit Capture Agreement
  • Must have eStatements
  • Have a valid email address on file
  • No delinquent loan(s) more than 30 days
  • No charged off accounts with the credit union
  • No related account or joint account closed due to negative balances within the last 12 months
  • Must have a valid U.S. address on file with no “bad address” or "hold mail" flag

Q: How will I know if I have been approved to use DeposZip?
You will be notified via the email address on file with the credit union.

Q: How much will it cost me to use DeposZip?
There is no charge to use DeposZip (RDC), however your account will be subject to the credit union’s fees for returned check items.

Q: Is DeposZip secure?
Yes, all information is stored in our secure systems and not on your device.

Q: How do I endorse the check?
You should endorse the check in the following manner.
"For Mobile Deposit Only C2CFCU Account # ____", the date and, the owner's signature.
 

  • Please make sure you use the required endorsement on your check or the deposit will be rejected.
  • We may determine, at our sole discretion, whether an image of an item submitted through DeposZip is of sufficient quality for acceptance and presentment.

Q: Which types of checks are not eligible for remote deposit?

  • Any item drawn on my account or my affiliate's account.Any item that is stamped with a "non-negotiable" watermark.
  • Any item that contains evidence of alteration to the information on the check.
  • Any item issued by a financial institution in a foreign country.
  • Any item that is incomplete.
  • Any item that is "stale dated" or "post dated."
  • Checks with multiple payees
  • Savings Bonds
  • Government Checks
  • Rebate Checks
  • Money Orders or Travelers Checks
  • Items previously returned NSF or converted to a Substitute Check
  • Any third party check, i.e., any item that is made payable to another party and then endorsed to me by such party.

Q: When will my deposit be available?

Funds may not be available for immediate withdrawal. Our policy is to make the first $200 of the days deposit available to you on the first business day we receive your deposit. Remaining funds will be held for five business days after receipt of the item. Deposits made before 5:00 PM EST on a business day, we will consider that day to be the day of your deposit. Deposits made after 5:00 PM EST or on a non-business day, we will consider to be made on the next business day. All checks deposited are subject to review. We may remove or place an extended hold on each item deposited at our discretion.

Cutoff time for submitting deposits is 5:00 PM EST (Monday – Thursday) and 5:30 PM EST (Friday).

Q: How will I know if my check has been accepted?

You can track the status of your check by selecting the "Deposits Review" option in the Deposit section of the mobile app.

Q: What should I do with the checks afterwards?

Original checks must be held for a period of 15 days after submission through DeposZip after which the check(s) must be “voided” and destroyed.

Q: If the check I deposited was returned, can I deposit the same check with the DeposZip service?

No, you will not be able to deposit a returned check via DeposZip.

Q: How much can I deposit?

  • Maximum Dollar Amount per item is $2,000
  • Maximum Dollar Amount per day is $5,000
  • Maximum Dollar Amount per 30-day rolling period is $10,000
    • We may establish limits on the total number of checks or total amount of checks deposited through DeposZip. We may establish or change such limits at any time and without notice to you.
    • Coast 2 Coast Financial Credit Union has the ability to establish individual parameters on each account. Special requests will be handled on an individual basis.
